Meet the Owner

Austin Trudeau

A lifelong love of all things automotive led Austin to opening Tru Automotive in 2013. Austin is a gearhead through and through with a love of several makes and models. When not at the shop, he can be found camping, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

 

Meet the TEAM

Colter Morgan

Service + Sales Manager

Colter is a Toyota Specialist with over eight years of experience in the automotive industry. Colter is passionate about anything with an engine. In his free time, he enjoys camping and wheeling.

Billy Berretta

Billy has been working on cars since high school tech classes. His experience includes 10 years at a Toyota dealership and four years working on Offroad specific Toyota projects. Outside of work, Billy’s biggest passion is snowboarding. During the rest of the year, Billy enjoys mountain biking, camping, climbing, hiking and wheeling. Billy is all about the outdoor activities.

Joel Bonilla

Joel is no stranger to the offroad world. He has been modifying trucks since 2014. Some have called him an alignment wizard. He is a Colorado native born and raised in North Denver. You can spot him heading to the mountains in his long-traveled 1st gen Tacoma with a mountain bike in the back.

Anthony Panza

Tony has had a passion for anything automotive ever since he was first tossed a set of keys. He has worked on his own vehicles since he was 16 and graduated from the Emily Griffith Automotive Service program in 2022. Being a Colorado native, he loves doing anything outdoors, especially wheeling and camping in his 3rd Gen 4Runner.

Michael Thomas

With 15 years of experience in the motorcycle industry, Michael has a deep passion for everything on two wheels. A true gearhead, he has a particular love for classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles. When he’s not working, you can find him enjoying the great outdoors—whether he’s mountain biking, camping, fishing, or hunting.

Jason Kunkel

Jason caught the offroad bug learning to drive at a very young age in his grandfather's 1949 Willy's. Jason has been woking on cars, specializing in 12v since 1995. He held MECP master certification for 18 years prior to working in the 4x4 industry. Jason bought his first jeep in the mid 90s and has owned several over the years. He has owned his current TJ since 2007 and has been modifying it ever since. Jason’s interests include offroading, camping, bicycling, motorcycling, snowboarding, and anything outdoors with the the family. The offroad community has provided him and his family with many life long friends. He also enjoys long walks on the beach, watching kung-fu, and snuggling up with a good book.

Dutchess

Dutchess has eight years of experience as a shop dog. She’s been off-roading and camping since she was just a pup. Dutchess has even ridden shotgun for the legendary Rubicon Trail. When not working as the Official Shop Dog of Tru Automotive, she enjoys sleeping, lounging, and playing with her brothers and sister.
